FilterBoxx and Combo Energy Services roots were formed through a joint partnership between FilterBoxx and the Inuvialuit Development Corporation, (IDC) beginning in 2004 with the formation of Northwater, an oilfield services company. IDC’s interest in Northwater was purchased by FilterBoxx in 2006, resulting in a very profitable investment for the IDC and the resultant formation of Combo Energy Services.
FilterBoxx’s Aboriginal & Community Relations Department is focusing on developing cooperation agreements, joint ventures and partnerships related to water and wastewater treatment. We have established the partnership program as a foundation of our work with both Canadian First Nations and American Indian Tribes. As a leading company in our industry we develop projects tailored to benefit partner communities through education, training, and support of community programs. Our relationships include native communities across Western Canada who will benefit through our policies of inclusion of the community and the members in project development. Communities such as Fort McMurray First Nation, Chipewyan Prairie First Nation and Heart Lake First Nation are working with FilterBoxx in establishing a partnership structure that will provide economic benefits to their membership. Additional communities in BC and Saskatchewan have also joined the process.
The Company’s goal is to develop Aboriginal Partnerships and work toward maximum Aboriginal involvement in association with educational, workforce and community improvements. Learn more about FilterBoxx First Nations and Aboriginal Program here>>
